DULF is a community coalition formed to provide tangible solutions to BC's overdose crisis. Regulating the drug market through community-led compassion clubs is the most accessible way of providing immediate safe supply. For a year, DULF ran a Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine Compassion Club pilot program. People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) enrolled as members, which granted them the ability to procure up to 14 grams of each substance per week. Eligibility requirements include prior usage of the club's provided substances, affiliation with established drug user networks (to verify existing substance use), and a minimum age of 19. Substances were tested and labelled prior to sale to prevent harm to club members. The club operated four days per week for a total of 24 hours and includes an on-site Overdose Prevention Site accessible to all members.
